DHAKA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE
The main campus including one four-storied building, three large workshop buildings now accommodating the class rooms, office, library, workshops & laboratories and one 500 capacity auditorium.
DHAKA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE > FACILITIES > MEDICAL CENTER
The institute has a Medical Center with a full time Medical Office and other supporting staff. The Center provides free treatment and first aid medicine to students, staff, And teacher.

The Institute owns a playground of 3 acres land having facility for football, cricket, volleyball, badminton & other indoor games. There is a pavilion with necessary amenities in the playground.

The spacious workshops and laboratories equipped with modern machines and instruments provide excellent opportunity for the training of students commensurate with practices in industries. Requisite amount of money is provided by the Government every year to keep the work shops at per with industrial developments.

At present there are three boys hostels and one girls hostel in the Institute which can accommodate nearly 2500 students.

There are a beautiful Mosque in our Institute. At the time there are 100 people can pray in this Mosque. And all kinds of facilities are here.

A library of well selected and up to date texts & references books maintained in the Institute. Current trade, industrial and educational journals are also available for use by students, staff and teacher. There is a Cafeteria within the institute premises for light refreshment of students, staff and teachers, the Institute possesses a gymnasium equipped with necessary facilities.

Free cinema shows are frequently arranged for students at the Institute Auditorium, Both educational and recreational shows are arranged at convenient time.

The Institute arranges necessary study tour facilities for students. Staff and teachers. There are a number of vehicles for the purpose.
DHAKA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE > FACILITIES > SCOPE FOR OUTSIDE WORKS
In order to develop the student ,the practical knowledge of quality control, cost effectiveness time and motion study during their crier and also to provide a forum for younger teacher to get good practical knowledge in their field , the institute has provision to undertake outside contracts of repair and other technical service with the available equipment /machinery .(Vide Govt. order no.c-18/83/22-Edn 12-04-1983).Within this provision testing of MS rod , cement , sand, bricks, concrete cubes/cylinder etc. Is being done in the workshop and laboratories of the institute with utmost accuracy skill.
DHAKA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE > FACILITIES > STIPENDS
At present there is a provision of offering stipends to 65% of the enrolled students of the Institute @ Tk. 250/- per month per student with a lump sum grant of Tk, 250/- per annul. The stipends of the students other then First semester are awarded on the basis of their results in the final examination of the preceding semesters. Merit, good conduct, satisfactory progress and regular attendance in the corresponding semester are considered as criteria for enlistment for award of stipend. 10% of the total number of stipends is reserved for female students. In case of eligible female students are not being available, the stipends are awarded to eligible male students. Students failing in any subjects in their final examination of the preceding semester are not entitled to stipends for the semester. First semester students are awarded stipends on the basis of the result of their SSC or equivalent examinations.
DHAKA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE > FACILITIES > SHORT COURSES
In addition to Diploma in Engineering course, the Institute is now conducting BTEB affiliated “Basic Trade Course” in Television & Radio servicing, Mobile servicing, Computer operator, House wiring, Electrician, Welding, Building & Architectural Drafting with Auto-CAD, Food processing & Preservation, Refrigeration & Air conditioning, Auto mechanics, Amin Ship, Building maintenance, Plumbing and Pipe fitting, Furniture and Cabinet Making.
The Institute has also provision for basic trade courses in Advance Electrical repair and Maintenance, General Mechanics, Turner etc.

The Diploma in Engineering graduates of this Institute have opportunity for higher studies in the Dhaka University of Engineering Technology (DUET), Gazipur leading to B.Sc in Engineering in the field of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science & Engineering. Private Universities / Institutions are also provide opportunities to them for study in B.Sc in Engineering in a number of fields, Besides, the Diploma in Engineering graduates have opportunity for admission in degree pass caurse of the National University, Bangladesh. Technical Teacher Training College (TTC) adjacent to Dhaka Polytechnic Institute Provides in Service teachers training course for the teachers of Polytechnic and other technical Institution. There are 1 year Diploma in Technical Education & 2 years B.Sc in Technical Education. In addition, preservice teachers training course for Diploma-in-Engineeringgradutes also operates in the TTTC
DHAKA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE > FACILITIES > INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT TRAINING
The courses are of 4-year duration divided into eight semesters, including “industrial Attachment Training” of one semester (six month) duration in different industrial organization.
Successful completion of the course including “Industrial Attachment Training” as per BTEB- regulations entitles a student to the award of Diploma-in-Engineering in his technology.

Dhaka Polytechnic Institute (DPI)
Dhaka Polytechnic Institute is the oldest Polytechnic Institute in Bangladesh. It was established in 1955 with only 120 students in the first year classes of Diploma-In-Engineering in four technologies, namely, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and power with the growing demands of mid-level technical manpower home and abroad the Institute has since greatly expended.
